WHO WE ARE

Faith, Vision, and Action for Great Things in Cities

Who we are

In Mission It is the annual urban mission conference coordinated by the Faculty of Theology at UNASP, bringing together leaders, pastors, youth, and missionaries who wish to expand the reach of the gospel in large cities.

Created to answer Jesus’ call in Matthew 28, In Mission was born with a clear purpose: to equip and inspire leaders to make disciples in increasingly challenging urban contexts.

During three days of immersion, participants have access to biblical, practical, and innovative content, as well as mentorship from experienced leaders, spaces for conversation, and missionary networking. All of this in an environment that fosters reflection, vision, and alignment with what God is doing in the cities.

Our purpose is simple: to ignite a flame of urban mission that transforms leaders, churches, and entire cities.

PURPOSE OF IN MISSION

In Mission exists to help us pause, reflect, and rediscover the true meaning of mission in cities—the what, the why, and the how of God’s call to His urban people.

More than a conference, In Mission is a space for spiritual and practical renewal. It is designed for:

Our walk

The history of In Mission is marked by a progressive and intentional construction around urban mission. From the beginning, each edition was conceived as a further step in the maturation of the church in its missionary vocation within the context of cities.

In Mission began in 2023 with the 1st Urban Mission Symposium, whose theme was “Church Revitalization” (November 14-17, 2023). This first edition arose from the recognition that mission begins within the faith community itself. We reflected on spirituality, identity, and missionary renewal, understanding that revitalized churches are instruments that God uses to reach cities marked by social, cultural, and spiritual challenges.

In 2024, In Mission moved forward with the 2nd Urban Mission Conference, under the theme “Discipling Different Groups and Generations” (October 27-30, 2024). The focus was on discipleship lived in an embodied and relational way, capable of transcending generations and engaging with the complexities of urban life. We were challenged to understand discipleship not only as individual formation, but as a communal, contextual, and missionary process.

In 2025, between May 25th and 28th, we held the 3rd edition of In Mission, with the theme “Rethinking Evangelism.” This meeting marked a moment of maturity for the movement, inviting the church to review evangelistic discourses, methods, and practices in light of Scripture, the ministry of Jesus, and contemporary cultural transformations. It was a call to biblical fidelity, pastoral sensitivity, and missionary responsibility in proclaiming the gospel in diverse urban contexts.

Throughout these editions, In Mission has grown consistently—in the number of participants, in the diversity of training tracks, in the qualification of the speakers, and, above all, in theological and missional depth. More than just isolated events, each meeting solidified In Mission as a space for training, listening, and sending forth, keeping the mission as the central axis of the entire journey.
